About | Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City

What is Junior Achievement?

Junior Achievement’s purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. JA has over 100 local JA Areas across the nation, and together we are the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA’s Volunteers lead programs—in the core content areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy— which ignite the spark in young people to experience and realize the opportunities and realities of work and life in the 21st century.

We Value Diversity

At JAKC, a diverse, inclusive and equitable organization is one where all feel valued and respected, whatever their gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education or disability. We are committed to a nondiscriminatory approach and provide equal opportunity experiences to all stakeholders in order to advance the mission. This includes volunteers, donors, board members, educators, and students. We respect and value diverse life experiences, heritages and thoughts and ensure all voices are valued and heard. We’re committed to modeling and providing a place of diversity and inclusion for all community stakeholders, and to maintaining an inclusive environment with equitable engagement and experiences for all.

JA Partner Organizations

Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City expands beyond the classroom. We are proud and excited to partner with multiple community organizations each year to provide our effective K-12 programming to even more Kansas City students.
